The night before Audrey's birthday, since it was a school night, and Adam worked, and wouldn't be home in the morning before the girls left for school, we let her open one present. A birthday outfit that she could wear on her birthday.
Found this cute picture on the camera :)
She acted surprised, but in fact she picked out her own outfit. These girls are getting so big, and have their own style, that sometimes I cant understand, :)
A new necklace, with the letter A on it.
She did a great job picking out an outfit, so cute.
BIRTHDAY MORNING
The Saturday before her birthday, we took her to get her birthday present, since the only thing she really wanted was a hamster. She named him Rascal Calico Climbs-a-lot. :)
Our 9 year old, isn't she adorable?
She wore a pin that said, "It's my Birthday"
She also picked out her own class treats this year. She said she didn't want to bring candy this year, because that is what everyone else does. :). So we went and got pencils, and little pencil grippers, and got curly ribbon and tied on the top. They were so adorable, and I didn't get a picture. :(.
She woke up to this. It was a really cold night, so she slept on the couch. And I may have woken her up, trying to get this all up for her the night before, But she quickly fell back to sleep, and I never did ask her if she remembered or not.
Birthday Afternoon
I picked her up from school, because she had a hair appt. to get a trim and a color piece put in her hair, like Whitney did. That's why she now has straight hair.
This girl also picked out her own birthday cake.
How cute is this?
That night Grandma and Grandpa Peterson and Grandpa Kaze came over to have pizza with us, and before we ate, she made labels for the counter. At the top of this page she wrote, "remember, party like a monster" Hahaha, she makes me laugh.
After dinner, it was time to open presents. She lined them all up on the couch.
A new collection of Beverly Cleary books.
Zack was her helper.
New Capri pants
New clothes from Granma
Then we sang and had cake and ice cream
If you look close, you will see that we had matches in her cake, instead of candles, not my greatest mom moment. :)
But then a great neighbor came to the rescue, and we got candles, :). Which is a great thing, because Audrey was getting really scared with all the matches.
Zack had to help, and we even had to relight them a couple of times to let him have some fun.
It turned out to be a great day. I cant believe my baby girl is getting so old. But she amazes me everyday with how smart, kind, and funny she is. She is a bright light in my life, and I love her so much more than words can say.
Happy Birthday Shorty
