13 Inches

TWO days before school started Whitney decided she wanted to get her hair cut. She had been growing it out for a while, and it was getting so pretty, but it was also becoming quite the chore. But she asked Saturday afternoon if I would cut it. I used to cut it when she was a lot younger, but I wasn't about to try and cut it now. So since time was short, I had her call Aunt Adrian, and of course she came to the rescue.
Isnt' it so pretty?

So Sunday we headed to grandpa Kaze's. I told Whitney if we were going to cut it, we were going to really cut it, and donate it to Locks of Love, and she was really excited, but nervous that it would be too short, but she was a trooper and went through with it.

To be able to be donated, it at least had to be 10 inches. We had plenty.

We decided we could cut a whopping 13 INCHES off.
So Adrian started cutting...
And cutting...

AND CUTTING! Whitney's hair is so thick that it would just bend around Adrian's scissors, literally. She had to take just a few pieces at a time so it was a very long process.

Even grandpa got out his carving knife, the one that he always keeps VERY sharp, and even it was having a really hard time going through it.

FINALLY!

Whitney was such a trooper, she just kept giggling the whole time. Aunt Adrian, Aunt Andrea and cousin Avrie were all amazed and awed with her hair. Whitney explained that the reason she has so much hair and why it grows so long is because she eats so much pizza. :), which gave us all a little laugh, Aunt Andrea told her she was sure pizza makes your tummy grow, not your hair.

After we finally got off the donation part, they started giving her a style. Whitney couldn't keep her hands out of her hair, she just kept running them through it, saying I used to be able to go like this, pulling her hands all the way out to the sides.

Adrian finally had to tell her to keep her hands out or she was going to get cut.

Zack was having a great time playing with his cousins, watering the flowers.

Avrie just sat in amazement that Whitney cut all her hair off, she kept saying "Your just not gonna be Whitney with all your hair gone. Its so weird!"

Whitney was still having a hard time keeping her hands out of her hair.

Zack had stopped watering the flowers, and moved on to getting Little Michael wet. They both thought it was so funny, Michael would run a little ways off and go "Nana nana naaana!" And Zack would just laugh. It was so cute.

Again, there was a LOT of hair to go through, Adrian said she was going to have to buy a new pair. ~sorry!~

The After! Isnt' it adorable?!

Whitney said it was a little shorter than she wanted, but she loved it, and the next morning she had decided it was just right, and wore a smile all day to church. She was in shock at how much easier it was to wash and brush through. She couldn't believe it. She cracked me up, she came up to me a hundred times telling me to watch her run her hands through it. I'm glad it made her so happy. Thanks Aunt Adrian!
