May Festival

Last year our elementary school started back up a tradition that they used to do a long time ago, the May Festival. This year Whitney and the rest of the 5th graders got to braid the May Pole.

Zack saw Whitney's class heading out, and wanted to follow her.

Lining up, Whitney is the second in line behind the girl in the blue shirt.

Our principal is retiring this year, so the whole school helped make a big banner for him, with their hand prints.

Audrey's grade did the Mexican Hat Dance, she was so excited because she was the dance leader in her small group. I had to go early to help pin flowers in the girls' hair, and marker mustaches on all the boys. It was really funny/cute how they all looked.
Audrey is the one with white pants and the red and black plaid shirt, whose back is towards us.

Part of the Dance leaders job was everyone had to line up behind you after the song and you had to lead them back to the chairs, Audrey took her job very seriously, I'm so proud of her. :)

You can see the Hispanic boy in this picture with his mustaches, some of them had the whole goatee look going.

Zack found the play ground, and made some new friends.
